It had been a while since I'd just drawn to draw. Here's a graphite on paper self-portratit I was fiddling around with the other night.

When it rains...
At last! Between
putting it off a few times to work on other
projects and reworking the drawing this one has spent a lot of time on the to-do list. I'm very happy to
have finally polished it off. Here's the first post relating to this work.

Downy snow...
Here's the final piece inspired by the PKD story, Out in the Garden. You can see the final comp drawing here. I put this one aside for a few months, though I'm not really sure why. I was excited about the image when I first started working on it and always had finishing it up in the back of my mind.
Regardless, a bizarre story and a lot of fun to make an illustration out of. Enjoy!

The Scottish Play
This is a book cover idea that's been kicking around in my sketchbook and on my table in various forms for a couple of months now. Easily one of my favorite Shakespeare works.

Monsters Are Real
Ahoy ahoy.
This is a piece of concept art I did for a short film project titled Former Things. The script was written by a friend of mine, Adam Brown, and tells the story of a young man returning home "to take care of his father's body during the zombie apocalypse."
Here's the Kickstarter page for the project if you'd like to learn more about the film and see the other bits o' concept art I painted.
Must say this was a great job to work on. The script was interesting and Adam had a solid idea as to how he wanted the film to look. My only regret is that I couldn't make it out to the location for the shoot. I think I would have really enjoyed observing the process. Perhaps there will be more of these in the future.
Here's a detail...

Man... two posts in seven days. This is gettin' heavy.

Twofer
Hey, remember that time I wrote two blog entries within a reasonable amount of time of one another? Yeah, me either.
Anyway, here are two pieces I've finished recently...
Anyway, here are two pieces I've finished recently...
This piece was inspired by the novel, "The Return of the Soldier", by Rebecca West. A shell-shocked English soldier comes off the front lines missing the last 15 years from his memory. Quick, but excellent read.
And this came to mind after watching an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents titled, Back for Christmas. After a man murders his wife and buries her in the basement he finds it's not so easy to lose the ol' ball and chain. See what I did there?
